Illnesses and Accidents

So, we weren't entirely accident or illness free in the last month and a half (or is it two + months now?)

Steven has had a bout of croup. Although, if you hadn't guessed that, then I must wonder what your smoking. I think I told Allison that there was no croup, but I got to thinking about it, and there was one bout of it in early February.
Natalie was accident prone during the last two months. The first accident landed us in the ER with her. Just before bedtime, Nat decided to faceplant into the coffee table. She cried a little bit, but with mommy-cuddles, she was okay in no time; I didn't even inspect the damage, assuming it was just a bump. When I took a peek at her a few minutes later, I saw a pretty deep gash just above her eye. We didn't know if it was deep enough to warrant a trip to the hospital, but I don't want my baby scarred up, either. And we pay for insurance, why not use it, right? So off we went. Turns out the cut was not deep enough for stitches, but deep enough to be glued. She was such a toughie. She only cried when they were gluing her, and only then because they wouldn't let her sit up.
So, that leaves the score for hospital trips: Natalie 2, Steven 0!!!The second accident occured 10 days later. Natalie reached for my blow drier just as I tried to stop her. She's quick!!!! SMACK the blow drier popped her in the nose. This time it wasn't deep enough for glue or anything, but REALLY!!!!!

The third accident happened later the same night as the blow drier incident. This one still curdles my blood a little bit...
We made hot chocolate for everyone in the family. Steven loved making a mess of his. As I was cleaning up his mess, Natalie went after my hot chocolate. I should mention just how HOT I like my hot chocolate... Since I make it from milk, I don't boil it, but I bring my cocoa almost to a boil. Before Nate or I could get to her, Natalie pulled the hot chocolate all over her shoulder and chest. I was already in motion, so before she could react, I had her in my arms and was running up the stairs. When I hit the stairs, Natalie started to SCREAM. I will never forget that horrible sound in my life. I never want to hear it again. I put her into the kitchen sink and put cold water over her, clothes and all. Once she calmed down, we took her clothes off to assess the damage. She looked sunburned, but no worse than that. By the time we put her to bed, her skin was already turning back to a healthy pink. God watched out for her that night... You see, I got really impatient with the hot chocolate and took it off the stove top significantly sooner than normal.
